List of Poetry and Lyric collections by Marc De Fleyt                                         

As chronological as possible. Artist names poetry signed with: Page, Page 84, Pef and Marc De Fleyt.

 

Although in childhood days more poems or perhaps collections may have been worked on. Also a collection of which its name is unclear and is not found in archives was written together with Phillippe Mullebroeck, who died at a young age.

We start with Bikkelhard en Zeemzoet (not that that is a better title), that originally was named Leeuwentemmen. Leeuwen as the poems are lions to be tamed before they can be put as poems. This collection was renamed as the symbol of the Dutch or Flemish speaking part of Belgium is the lion.

The first three poetry collections each of them in a different style and with a different approach, were compiled as a trilogy Ergens, dichter. Although Marc De Fleyt in the period after Concept didn’t very much had any work in the Dutch language published in contrast to the English work that has gone around the world. He managed to get listed as inhabitant of Ghent who added up the literature. A listing most likely based on this trilogy, the play, the experimental collection Zinloze gedichten (Phraseless poetry), and the poetry collection Kastenpoëzie. There still are some extra projects often booklets with a selection from several books such as Poetry to Perform in front of your friends or Considerate…translations of the poetry of the play into the dialect of Ghent and translations of the lyrics of popular Flemish or Dutch songs  into the dialect of Ghent too. Those are not listed here in detail.

Lyrics written with Chris Toussaint and Eric Wong for the T-Bay project (most probably about 30) are neither included. There must also be also a tiny collection of poems written and collected about the word “meer” (more, but also in Dutch it has meanings such as lake of not anymore, niet meer).

Poems about relationships, growing up, keeping oneself alive and kicking and getting old. Illustrated.

 

Leesgenot, dacht ik (Ergens dichter part 2)

A collection of compographic poems, cut and paste work. Poems are often circular poems with no beginning or end. Snippets are pasted in such a way that they depict the subject matter, this adds no emotional value to the poem itself.

 

Glaasje Prik (Ergens dichter part 3)

Dreamy, surrealistic word play. Illustrated.

 

Heart of Spades

Merely a translation of Bikkelhard en Zeemzoet into English.
